Are you struggling with back pain? You might find some solace in knowing that you’re not alone. In fact, eighty percent of people worldwide will experience back pain at some point.
However, just because back pain is common doesn’t mean you have to suffer through it! The vast majority of back pain is what’s known as “non-specific” back pain, meaning it doesn’t stem from an underlying disease but rather a mechanical issue or injury. This means you can find relief – but you may need a blend of treatment approaches to get there.
At Vibrant Health Solutions, we regularly help patients manage or resolve their back pain using our integrated treatment approach. By blending techniques like dry needling, massage therapy, regenerative therapy, and more, we’ll find a back pain solution that works for you.
Here’s what to expect when you make an appointment at our clinic to address back pain. And if you have any specific questions, call to speak to our friendly staff!
Step 1: Understanding Your Back Pain

The first step in creating your personalized treatment program is to understand why you’re experiencing back pain. We’ll perform a comprehensive consultation in which we learn your complete health history and discuss your specific symptoms, day-to-day activities, and overall goals.
You’ll then meet with our nurse practitioner, who will review your health history and perform a physical examination. If necessary, we may order some diagnostic tests. The end result is a complete picture of your back pain and all the information our multidisciplinary team needs to create a customized treatment plan.
Step 2: Manage Pain and Promote Healing
While every treatment plan is completely tailored to your needs, most people who see us for back pain follow a similar path, particularly if their back pain stems from an underlying injury. Generally, we start by managing your pain and facilitating your body’s healing processes.

Laser Therapy
- Laser therapy uses lightwaves to help repair damaged soft tissue, which can reduce pain and inflammation.
Trigger Point Injections
- Trigger points are small, tender knots in your muscle’s connective tissue that can cause pain throughout your body, including your back. We’ll inject these trigger points with a saline solution to deactivate the trigger point, helping to facilitate healing and reduce pain.
Regenerative Therapy
- Regenerative therapy is a cutting-edge treatment that uses different techniques to help your body heal itself. Platelet-rich plasma injections are a good example. Platelets in your body’s blood have natural growth factors. By drawing your blood, processing it to amplify the amount of platelets, and then injecting it into the injury site, this technique boosts healing and helps manage pain.
Step 3: Restore Strength and Function
Once you’ve found an effective way to manage your pain, we’ll begin working with you to restore strength and function to your back so you can return to your everyday activities. Here are just a few of the ways we might achieve that:
Bracing
- A back brace can help support your spine, reducing pain and taking pressure off any injured structures. Using a back brace appropriately can help you manage pain flare-ups as you work through your treatment program.
Chiropractic Adjustments
- Chiropractic care focuses on the spine, making it a natural choice for those struggling with back pain. Chiropractic adjustments – which involve thrusting the spinal joints through their current range of motion – can help improve your mobility so you can more easily perform any prescribed exercises.
Therapeutic Exercise
- Targeted exercises to strengthen your back and core muscles are essential in helping you prevent future back injuries. We’ll show you the best exercises based on your needs and ability levels, increasing their intensity as you improve so you can see lasting results.

Patient Success Story
“I came to Vibrant Health Solutions due to lower back pain. I have been working with Tyler and he has been wonderful helping with getting my back pain under control. Tyler is very knowledgeable and educated when I ask questions. It has made a world of difference since working with Tyler. Tyler has listened and educated me on what kind of exercises need to be done to eliminate and help the pain. I started out with the laser and Tyler had me do exercises for my lower back, hips and pelvis, and then adjustments two to three times a week. It has made a tremendous difference. Physical therapy exercises that Tyler have shown me has been the biggest part of the process. Physical therapy and adjustments together make a big difference on feeling better. I have gone for several years to get adjusted and it did help but it would flare back up again and I would have to start over. If I do the exercises then it is not so bad when I need an adjustment. It was very important to do the exercises not just with Tyler but also doing them on my own at home. I am very happy that I reached out and got started on this program.” – Karen S.

Honey Garlic Shrimp
This saucy shrimp owes a lot of its flavor to a bold marinade of honey, soy sauce, and garlic, which is music to everyone’s taste buds. For a little extra flavor, we add some minced fresh ginger, but that’s entirely optional.
Whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger (if using) together in a medium bowl. Place shrimp in a large zipped-top bag or tupperware. Pour 1/2 of the marinade mixture on top, give it all a shake or stir, then allow shrimp to marinate in the refrigerator for 15 min or for up to 8-12 hours. Cover and refrigerate the rest of the marinade for the next step. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place shrimp in the skillet. Discard used marinade. Cook shrimp on one side until pink — about 45 seconds — then flip shrimp over. Pour in remaining marinade and cook it all until shrimp is cooked through, about 1 min more. Serve shrimp with cooked marinade sauce and a garnish of green onion. The sauce is excellent on brown rice and steamed veggies on the side.
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (reduced sodium)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- Optional: 1 tsp minced ginger
- 1 lb medium uncooked shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 2 tsp olive oil
- Optional: chopped green onion garnish

Exercise of the Month
Bridge With Pelvic Floor Contraction and Resistance Band
Start by lying on your back with knees bent, feet flat on the floor, and arms at your sides with palms down. Wrap a band around your legs just above your knees. Perform a pelvic floor contraction (kegel). Engaging the abdominals and squeezing the buttocks, slowly lift your hips up toward the ceiling. Slowly lower them back down. Repeat exercise 10 times.
