Discover Our Unique Approach to Addressing Back Pain

You’ve been planning your family’s week-long summer vacation for months, and you can’t wait to cram in every activity and experience you can. But a few weeks before its time to depart, the nagging back pain you’ve been ignoring worsens. When you arrive at your vacation destination, you find yourself cutting your days short because it’s too difficult to stay on your feet.

Sound familiar? There’s no denying that back pain can profoundly affect your quality of life. And unfortunately, back pain can often be challenging to treat, often appearing seemingly out of nowhere and lingering for months.

The team at Vibrant Health Solutions understands your frustration. We also understand that effective back pain treatment starts with understanding your unique needs, which forms the foundation of our unique approach – one focused on collaboration, clarity, and lasting relief.

“Back pain” is a broad term for many symptoms and sensations. It can show up as muscle tightness or spasms, sharp stabs of intense discomfort, or a dull ache that simply won’t go away. Sometimes, it brings along additional symptoms, like restricted mobility or radiating pain and numbness.

Back pain can vary widely because several factors and conditions can cause it. Many times, back pain results from a combination of factors.

For some, it might start with poor posture or weak core muscles. For others, it results from spinal disc problems, inflammation, or arthritis. Even when there’s a clear source of injury (such as lifting a heavy piece of furniture), lifestyle factors might still be in play.

Because there are so many possible causes for back pain, treatment can feel like guesswork, especially if you’re working with just one provider. But at Vibrant Health Solutions, we bring several different medical professionals together under one roof to provide you with more accurate evaluations, well-rounded care plans, and faster relief.

During your first appointment, we’ll conduct a comprehensive assessment to help us understand your symptoms, medical history, possible sources of injury, and other factors. We’ll also conduct a physical examination to test your posture, strength, mobility, and overall function.

Our integrated team reviews your case, each one bringing a different perspective to the discussion. Together, they’ll create a treatment plan that targets the root of your pain.

You’ll work with our various specialists as we guide you through your treatment plan, adjusting as needed to fit your needs and speed your recovery.

Our clinic offers a wide range of services to manage back pain effectively, from manual therapy to exercise to postural assessments. Today, however, we want to focus on some of the more unique options we might include in a treatment plan for back pain.

These treatments use light or sound waves to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and stimulate healing in your back’s soft tissues. We often suggest them for muscle strains, disc issues, and mobility restrictions in the spine.

Our saline-based injections can reduce inflammation in your spinal joints and provide temporary relief without steroids or other pain medication. We often suggest them when your pain stems from joint dysfunction or arthritis.

Therapeutic massage can relieve tension, enhance blood flow, and support mobility. It’s especially helpful when muscles are overcompensating for joint or disc problems.

Sometimes, giving the spine a little extra support can reduce strain and protect healing tissues. We can work with you to create a back brace that fits well and helps stabilize your back during movement or recovery.

Proper nutrition supports healing at the cellular level. We can help you develop eating plans to reduce inflammation, support tissue repair, or address deficiencies that affect muscle and joint function.

Feel stronger, move easier, and enjoy the warm weather doing what you love with confidence — starting with your free consultation with our medical team.

“When I came to TherapyWorks, I had lost part of my sartorius muscle to cancer. I could walk okay but had difficulty lifting my leg to get in and out of a vehicle. I wasn’t able to put my own shoes and socks on either. With the help of all the staff and a whopping 90 sessions of physical therapy, I am able to do both of these things successfully. Thank you so much everyone! I feel like I made a new family!”

Try these Suggestions!

Everyone knows regular exercise is crucial to good health. Not only can it improve symptoms of osteoarthritis and other types of joint pain, it can lower your risk of developing heart disease and diabetes while boosting your mood.

But what happens if you struggle with mobility? How can you exercise regularly if it’s difficult for you to move at all? You might find some of these suggestions helpful:

  • Find something you enjoy. This is the number one suggestion for exercising more. If you find an activity you love doing, you’ll look forward to doing it. Our therapists can help you find that sweet spot of exercises that suit your abilities and your interests.

  • Modify your workouts to accommodate your needs. Did you know you can lift weights while sitting in a chair? Or take a heart-healthy walk while using a mobility aid? Our therapists can help you find the modifications that work for you.

  • Incorporate exercise into your daily routine. You don’t have to go to the gym to work out. Putting away groceries? Try doing a few bicep curls with your soup cans (and eventually, you may graduate to using your milk jug!). Sweeping the living room? Put on some music, and don’t be afraid to dance as you work.

Looking for a fun and flavorful way to liven up your dinner routine? Try this creative take on oven-baked chicken! Instead of traditional breading, crispy French-fried onions add a satisfying crunch and savory flavor. Simply coat skinless, boneless chicken breasts in beaten egg, press into crushed onions, and bake to golden perfection — no frying required.

Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ cups French-fried onions, crushed
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spread crushed onions in a shallow bowl. Pour egg into a separate shallow bowl. Dip chicken into beaten egg, then press into crushed onions. Gently tap chicken to let loose pieces fall away. Place breaded chicken on a baking sheet. Bake chicken until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 20 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees. Serve and enjoy!

Sit with both legs extended on the floor. Slowly slide one heel toward your body, bending the knee while keeping the foot on the floor. Straighten the leg again and repeat to improve knee mobility.
